I personally would always opt for a hydronic coil in the supply airstream of a heat pump system for more versatility in fuel usage as well as having two means of heating my home. The First Co. Hydronic air handlers are good units; I have seen them used in a number of commercial applications. Have seen them in only one house and they didn't need any auxiliary heat.
